Hi Guys,
Thanks for visiting my newly revamped website, I hope you find it informative and easy to navigate. I have made the effort to be mobile friendly as I understand our clients appreciate the convenience of using their mobile devices to search and browse the web. The addition of a quick call button and contact info at the top and bottom of each screen should make it easier for you guys to get in contact with me.
In other news i have recently changed sounder brands to a company with a big reputation, I am loving the new Lowrance HDS9 Gen 3 touch unit. With a bigger screen and better resolution the clarity of the soundings are unbelievable! It’s like watching fish TV some days… Quality, faultless electronics and the ability to read them is crucial to catching fish in the most densely populated city in Australia. I look forward to a long relationship with Lowrance and keeping my vessel up to date with the latest and greatest model to stay ahead of the game!
Currently we are chasing Mulloway on the Hawkesbury River using soft plastics. We favour colours and shapes from the leading brands like Z-man, Berkley, Yum and Squidgies. There is also some by-catch along the way in the form of Flathead, stud Bream and a few Estuary Perch most days. The number of fish aren’t what winter fishing is about… it’s the quality of fish. Most Mulloway caught at this time of year are at least of legal size (70cm) with a handful of sub legal fish and quite a few of the better specimens over the meter mark.
It’s a great time of year to master the art of using soft plastics with most week days having a minimum of boat traffic and other anglers on the water. What’s that you say “it’s too cold for fish” in fact their environment is far more stable than ours! The water temp can vary from a half degree to a full degree in the water coinciding with the tidal cycle generally warmer with the flood tide, but out in our atmosphere we can have variations from below freezing to 20 degrees then back down to single digits in a 12hr period.
So don’t hesitate in getting your winter fishing fix, throw on some warm clothes and come experience some sensational fishing on Sydney’s doorstep!
